Dr. Andreia Nebel was selected as the eighth President of Clarkson College in 2023, committing herself in service to others, and leading efforts for growth and innovation. As President, Dr. Nebel directs all College operations including academic and community programming, accreditation and compliance, financial operations, student and administrative services, innovation, research, strategic planning, fundraising and facilities development, communications, and mission-driven outreach.  She is passionate about the future of healthcare education and the importance of supporting students, alumni, and professionals in all areas of health care at the local, state, and national level. 

Originally from Casper, Wyoming, Dr. Nebel earned a bachelor’s degree in health and human development from Montana State University–Bozeman and continued her education at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In 2020, she received an Ed.D. in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University. Her dissertation explored the role of political skill in decision-making for resource allocation in higher education. She continues to pursue scholarly opportunities related to this work. Her clinical background includes pediatrics, outpatient orthopedics, industrial wellness, and geriatrics. She embraces the opportunity to work with a wide range of patient populations and retains a passion for teaching.

Dr. Nebel joined the faculty of Clarkson College in 2003 and continues to serve as an associate professor. She has taught in both the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and the Doctor of Healthcare Education & Leadership (Ed.D.) programs with teaching assignments including professional issues, advanced multiple system interventions and care through the lifespan, and a doctoral seminar course. She served as the director of the PTA program from 2007 - 2015 and as Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) from 2015 – 2023.

Professional Initiatives

Interprofessional Education: Integral in completing a collaboration project with Creighton University to create an interprofessional education course for all Clarkson College students, including required interprofessional experiences.

PT and PTA Teams: Completed a four-year study with colleagues from Clarkson College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center to support the need for high-functioning Physical Therapist (PT) and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) teams.

Workforce Development: Multiple collaborative initiatives with Nebraska Medicine and the Nebraska Hospital Association in support of workforce development initiatives.

Rural and Urban Health: Involved with outreach programs to serve others and improve quality of life through preventive medicine, community-based wellness, and health interprofessional education programs.
