Dr. Jamie Halverson became an associate professor at Clarkson College in 2018. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication, Organizational Leadership and Public Relations, and Human Resource Management from Wayne State College as well as a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of South Dakota. In 2014, Dr. Halverson earned her doctorate in Education Administration in Higher Education and Community College Leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Prior to working at Clarkson College, Dr. Halverson taught at Iowa Community College Consortium and Iowa Western Community College. She brings her years of experience in higher education to several organizations at the College including the Diversity Council, Faculty Development Committee and Wellness Committee. She is also a past member of the Lambda Pi Eta honors society, American Association of Community College and Iowa Communication Association.
Outside the College, Dr. Halverson serves as a board member at Thriving Trolley and Birthright of Council Bluffs. She is also a school presenter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
