JoAnn Acierno has been a faculty member in the Undergraduate Nursing program at Clarkson College since 2002. She earned her Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing from the University of Nebraska College of Nursing and her certificate in the Legal Nurse Consultant Specialized program from the University of California at San Diego. She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing Education from Clarkson College In 2007.

Along with her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Acierno serves as the course coordinator for Pharmacology courses at the College. She has served as a faculty counselor and treasurer of Sigma Theta Tau International, Omicron Epsilon Chapter, the international nursing honors society, during her time at the institution. Currently, she is on the Board of Directors for Omicron Epsilon. Ms. Acierno also serves on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska League for Nursing.

In 2014, Ms. Acierno earned the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Sigma Alpha Pi chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She also earned the Leading in Excellence Award from the Clarkson College Faculty Senate in 2008. Ms. Acierno is a member of the Clarkson College Alumni Association and serves as the Vice President of her neighborhood Homeowner’s Association.
