Kassie McKenny, EdD, RN, CNE has been a Clarkson College faculty member since 2004. She is a Clarkson College alumni, earning both her master's degree in nursing education and doctoral degree in Healthcare Education and Leadership. Dr. McKenny's dissertation research focused on health care faculty barriers to teaching sexual and gender minority health.
Prior to coming to Clarkson College, Dr. McKenny worked with renal/transplant patients at Nebraska Medicine. She continues to work within an active direct patient care role at a CHI family practice clinic, as a PRN RN. Beyond her faculty role, Dr. McKenny provides leadership in a several areas both at Clarkson College and within the professional of nursing via the Nebraska League for Nursing. In 2017, Dr. McKenny earned the March of Dimes Academic Excellence award for outstanding work in nursing education. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honors Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Dr. McKenny is active in the community, as a volunteer in children’s ministry at her church as well as a various service projects across Omaha.
