Marilyn Russell has taught in the Undergraduate Nursing program at Clarkson College since 2009. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Nebraska Methodist College. Prior to becoming an educator, Ms. Russell’s clinical experience spanned the home health, hospice and long-term acute care fields.
Along with teaching, Ms. Russell serves as the Clinical Coordinator for NS 476-477 Population Health and NS 461-462 Population-Based Public Health. She also serves as a mentor to recipients of the Gateway to Success Scholarship for Minority Nursing Students. She currently a member of Sigma Theta Tau International honors society and the National League of Nursing.
In 2010, Ms. Russell earned the Nebraska Nurses Association Positive Image of Nursing Nurse Educator award and in 2008, earned the Omaha Black Nurses Association Nurse Educator award.

Curriculum Development: Revised curriculum plan for current four Population Health level courses. Level I and II courses received state approval Spring 2019, level 1 initiated Fall 2019, level II will be initiated Spring 2020, level III fall 2020, and level IV will be initiated summer 2021 (no state approval required for level III or IV)
