Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. All the while, we've maintained a commitment to preparing our students to be the best in various realms of health care. Mary Dishman, MSN, BSN, joined Clarkson College as an instructor in 2006, and since 2015, she has served as the Assistant Director of the Undergraduate Nursing program. She is an alumna of Clarkson College, having earned her Diploma in Nursing from the institution. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Bellevue College, a Master’s degree in Nursing from Clarkson College and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Crown College.

Throughout her career at the College, Ms. Dishman has served as a member of the Faculty Senate and Nomination Committee Chair. She has also served as the Director of the Omicron Epsilon chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau national nursing honors society. Along with serving as the Assistant Director and instructor at the College, Ms. Dishman works part-time in private practice as a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Provider.
