J.W. Upright, Ed.D., M.Ed., has been an integral part of Clarkson College for many years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Social Studies, Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Curriculum Development, and a Doctoral degree in Secondary Education Curriculum Development and Instructional Design, all from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Dr. Upright served as the President of Clarkson College from 1997 until 2007 and following his tenure, he remained part of the College community as an instructor in the Administration and Management program. Prior to his time at Clarkson College, Dr. Upright served as an educator as well as the Executive Director of the Lincoln Medical Center Association and the President of the Lincoln Medical Education Foundation.
Dr. Upright has been the recipient of the National Society of Leadership and Success Excellence in Teaching Award, the Maltese Cross Service Award and the Otto F. Bauer Humanitarian Service Award. In 2004, the J.W. Upright Success Center on campus was named in honor of Dr. Upright’s dedication to the College and its students.
