Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. All the while, we've maintained a commitment to preparing our students to be the best in various realms of health care. Leanne Galvan, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, has been an adjunct faculty member at Clarkson College since 2020. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Recreation Leisure Studies and Nursing as well as her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Nebraska Methodist College.

Dr. Galvan currently works as a Nurse Practitioner at an independently owned clinic in Omaha where she treats patients with acute and chronic conditions. Shel also completes in-home health assessments for vulnerable and medically complex adults throughout Nebraska.

Dr. Galvan’s research covers topics including “Reducing Barriers to Early and Progressive Mobility in the Mechanically Ventilated Patient”, and she is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
