Dr. Renee Ruhkamp began her career in health care as a CNA in a nursing home in her hometown at the age of 14. After high school, she entered nursing school and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). She gained experience in a variety of clinical settings, including work as a float nurse and in acute rehabilitation, as well as through temporary staffing roles. After the birth of her daughter, she transitioned to a position in a cardiology clinic, where she discovered her passion for furthering her education.
She returned to school to complete her BSN, then continued directly into her MSN and ultimately earned her Doctor of Education (EdD). In 2005, Dr. Ruhkamp moved to Omaha and simultaneously began her MSN studies and her career at Clarkson College as an instructor. Over the years, she has advanced through the academic ranks and currently serves as a full professor in the Graduate Nursing Department. Dr. Ruhkamp has been a dedicated member of the Clarkson College faculty since 2005.
